John Updike, two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist, short story writer, critic and poet died of cancer on January 27, 2009 at the age of 76. The following poem, entitled Requiem, is his own. It will be featured in "Endpoint and Other Poems," not yet released. Updike's last novel on audio, "The Widows of Eastwick" is reviewed in this issue along with "The Witches of Eastwick" which was first published 25 years ago.

The 2009 Audie Awards were announced on Friday, May 29, 2009. Actor and audiobook reader Tony Roberts hosted the event, which was held at the New York Historical Society. Brilliance Audio's President and Publisher, R. Michael Snodgrass, and Brilliance Vice-president and Associate Publisher, Eileen Hutton, received a Special Achievement Award for their signiicant contributions to the development and growth of the audio publishing industry.
